What Are Project Push-to Settings?
Agiloop INVENT allows you to push features, stories, and tasks directly into popular project management (PM) tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Trello.
To do this, each project must first be configured with the appropriate export connection settings. These settings define:
Which PM tool to push to
How INVENT concepts map to work items in that tool
The credentials and identifiers needed to create items successfully
Export settings are configured per project.
Where to Find Export Settings
To configure export settings:
Open your project in Agiloop INVENT
Open Project Settings
Navigate to the Export to section
Select the PM tool you want to connect (Excel, Azure DevOps, Jira, or Trello)
Once selected, tool-specific configuration options will appear.
Supported Export Destinations
INVENT currently supports exporting to:
Jira
Azure DevOps (ADO)
Trello
Microsoft Excel (formatted workbook)
Each destination requires different configuration details based on how that system manages work items.
Example: Configuring a Jira Connection
When Jira is selected as the export destination, INVENT requires the following information.
Jira Connection Settings
Base URL
The base URL of your Jira Cloud instance.
Example:
https://yourcompany.atlassian.netUsername
The email address associated with your Jira account.
This must match the account that owns the API token.
API Token
A Jira API token used to authenticate INVENT with Jira.
API tokens are generated in Jira (Atlassian account settings)
Passwords are not supported
Tokens are stored securely
Project Key
The Jira project key where items should be created.
Example:
AIDThis determines which Jira project receives the exported work items.
Mapping INVENT Concepts to Jira Issue Types
INVENT allows you to define how its internal concepts map to Jira issue types.
Common mappings include:
Feature → Epic
Story → Story
Task → Sub-task
These mappings are configurable to match your Jira project’s issue type setup.
This ensures that exported items:
Appear in the correct hierarchy
Follow your team’s Jira conventions
Work with existing workflows and boards
Automatically Archive Features After Export (Optional)
You can optionally enable Automatically archive feature after export.
When enabled:
Features that are successfully pushed to the PM tool are archived in INVENT
Archived features remain visible for reference
Archived features are excluded from active planning and estimates
This is useful when INVENT is used primarily for planning, and execution happens elsewhere.
Connection Status
Once all required fields are valid, INVENT will indicate the connection status (for example, Connected).
A successful connection means:
Credentials are valid
INVENT can create items in the target system
The project is ready for export
Configuring Other Tools (Azure DevOps, Trello, Excel)
Other PM tools follow the same general pattern:
Select the destination
Provide required credentials and identifiers
Configure mappings between INVENT concepts and destination work items
Each tool may require:
Different authentication methods
Different project or board identifiers
Different mapping options
INVENT only shows the fields required for the selected tool.
What Happens After Configuration?
Once export settings are configured:
You can push individual features or entire feature bundles
INVENT will create the corresponding work items in the target system
Structure, hierarchy, descriptions, and estimates are preserved
No manual re-entry is required.
Need Help?
If you’re unsure what values to enter, or if a connection fails:
Double-check credentials and permissions in the target PM tool
Ensure the selected project or board exists
Contact support if you need help configuring your integration
