Sharing a Project with Others

Agiloop gives you several ways to bring collaborators into your project, depending on what level of access they need and whether they're joining your team or simply borrowing your work. This article explains each sharing method and when to use it.

Inviting Team Members via Email

Email invites are the most direct way to add a specific person to your project. You choose their role before the invite is sent, so they have the right level of access from day one.

Steps

  1. Open your project and go to Project Settings.
  2. Select the Team Members tab.
  3. Enter the person's email address in the invite field.
  4. Choose a role from the dropdown:
    • Owner — Full control, including billing and project deletion
    • Admin — Manage team members and all project settings
    • Maintainer — Manage features, specs, and builds; cannot change team membership
    • Member — View and contribute to features; limited settings access
  5. Click Send Invite.

The recipient receives an email with a link to join. Once they accept, they appear in your team member list.

Note: You can change a team member's role at any time from the Team Members tab. Only Owners and Admins can send invites or modify roles.

Using the Share-Copy Link

The share-copy allows you to share a copy of your projevt with a specified email recipient. They do not have access to your original — it is simply a duplicate that they will now be the owner of.

This is useful when you want to:

  • Share a feature template or starter pack with another team
  • Let a colleague build on a similar project without duplicating your entire workspace
  • Distribute a reference project for training or onboarding purposes

Steps

  1. Open your project and go to Project Actions.
  2. Look for the Share-Copy option.
  3. Copy the link and send it to the person you want to share with.

Note: The share-copy link only copies features, not team members, settings, or build infrastructure. The recipient will own their copy independently.

Using the Transfer Link

A transfer link is used when you want to hand ownership of a project to another person. This is a significant action — once the transfer is accepted, the new owner has full control of the project, including the ability to remove you.

Use a transfer link when you:

  • Are leaving a team and want to pass the project to a successor
  • Built a project on behalf of a client and are handing it over
  • Are reorganizing ownership across your organization

Steps

  1. Open your project and go to Project Actions.
  2. Find the Transfer option.
  3. Generate the transfer link and send it to the intended new owner.
  4. Once they accept, ownership transfers to their account.

Note: Only the current project Owner can generate a transfer link. Before transferring, make sure the recipient has an Agiloop account. Consider discussing the transfer with your team beforehand, as it affects everyone's access.
